About: Southeast Minneapolis resident Robert Kirby has been drawing and publishing comics for over 20 years. His self-syndicated comic strip “Curbside” (1991-2008) was collected in two book collections: Curbside, published with the aid of a Xeric Grant in 1998, and Curbside Boys (2002, Cleis Press). His queer boy comics zine anthology Boy Trouble debuted in 1994 and eventually graduated into book collections (co-edited with David Kelly) from Green Candy Press: The Book of Boy Trouble (2006) and The Book of Boy Trouble Volume 2: Born to Trouble (2008). The first issue of Robert’s new all-color queer comics anthology THREE debuted in 2010 and was nominated for two Ignatz awards. Robert published a second issue this summer and at this year’s Alternative Press Expo (APE) he was announced as the recipient of this year’s Prism Queer Press Grant for THREE. His new solo minicomic King for a Day will debut at MIX.
